Page back up and running

By Matt | September 19, 2007

Hey everyone, my blog is finally back up and running. Well I still do not have my license 🙁 I’m finding it hard to get air time at the school I’m currently at (only one plane) I’m going on the afternoon shift at work for the next 2 weeks starting Monday, so I hope to get my license by then.

On a positive note, I did go for a solo flight on Monday. The weather was perfect so I departed runway 26 then headed north-east towards Cook’s bay practice area. The practice area was very busy so communication was very important. I did some upper air work at 4000 ft practicing slow flight, stalls, steep turns, then descended and did some simulated forced approaches. I then headed back to Holland Landing Airpark. Winds were light and variable and my landing was nice and smooth. One thing I forgot to do while taxing on the grass was to keep controls fully back. I was reminded by the chief instructor who was giving me parking hand signals.

I also just want to let everyone know that I have purchased a vinyl cutter to make stickers and signs. I can do vehicle lettering, coroplast signs, banners, etc. So you have any inquires please let me know.

Hi Matt, It’s funny ! I read you purchased a vinyl cutter! I’m in the process of doing the same in order to help fund my helicopter lessons. You can also check out my website I created to raise money. Good Luck Alan

Hey Alan, hopefully everything goes well for you. I haven’t made any cash yet but hopefully some will come in soon. Where are you located ? I’m in Ontario, Canada.
